Jonathan Majors was born as ‘Jonathan Michael Majors’ on Thursday, September 7, 1989 (age 31 years; as in 2020), in Lompoc, California. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He spent his early years at Vandenberg Military Base in Lompoc and then moved to Dallas, Texas, at the age of five. He completed his schooling from Duncanville High School in Texas in 2008. He took a year break and attained his BFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and did his MFA in Acting from Yale School of Drama in 2016. After attaining his BFA degree, he studied acting at Terry Knickerbocker Studio, New York.

Career
Jonathan made his on-screen debut in 2011 with the film ‘Do Not Disturb’ in the segment ‘Prom’ as ‘Mike.’
He made his breakthrough with the film ‘The Last Black Man in San Francisco’ (2019) in the lead role of ‘Montgomery Allen.’
He has acted in the films, Much Ado About Nothing (TV Movie; 2013), Hostiles (2017), White Boy Rick (2018), Captive State (2019), Gully (2019), and Da 5 Blood (2020). He made his television debut with the mini-series ‘When We Rise’ (2018) as young ‘Ken Jones.’
He has also acted in the HBO series ‘Lovecraft Country’ (2020) as ‘Atticus Black.’

- In his spare time, he likes traveling, watching films, playing sports, and reading.
- He grew up playing various sports, especially football in Texas.
- In his teens, he found himself getting into trouble with the neighborhood children; he started getting into fights and was bullied. A series of misfortune took him as he had to do community service for getting caught shoplifting red-handed, he faced school suspension after he got indulged in a physical altercation, and shortly after, he was thrown out of his home, he began living in his car, which he fondly remembers as ‘Oldsmobile called Ariel.’ At the same time, he started indulging in theaters and began doing a part-time job at a restaurant.
- He regards himself as a disciple of the American playwright August Wilson, whose plays he had directed at the Yale School of Drama. Talking about it, he says,
We did all 10 of the Pittsburgh Cycle series in one year. They hadn’t seen anything like it since the heydays when Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance had been in school.”
- He suffered from slight speech impairments and had his tongue clipped in order to audition for colleges.
- In 2015, he won the NSAL (National Society of Arts and Letters) Drama Competition. Talking about his experience of the competition, he said,
I cannot express to you all, what a life-changing experience the competition was for me. So much has happened since the spring of 2015, from staring in an ABC mini-series that premiered in 2017 (directed by Gus Van Sant) to entering 2018 with four feature films hitting the screens worldwide. That said I am still building and still working to achieve my dream. My heartfelt thanks for all that you do for young artists.”
